(My own photograph)

Gentle thaw, perceptible,

as sun’s beneficent beams

colour my world.

And snow’s cold fingers

relinquish icy grip again.

Water droplets gently slide

along the boughs of

leafless trees, ready

to spill on ground below,

As from white to green

the landscape’s hue

is metamorphosed

And as I gaze

into your light

my frozen heart

is strangely warmed

by love that is unfailing.

When suddenly, perceptibly,

I come to life again.
