A response to a court ruling (10/2/2012) which jeopardizes the offering of prayers before local Council meetings in the UK….
Dictionary: “Alarum” (now archaic except of a warning mechanism or sound)
As sleight of hand
and subterfuge combined
with misuse, manipulation
and misinterpretation of our law,
overturning centuries of tradition,
undermining democratic decision
alarm bells peeled
dissonantly, raucously
screaming out: “Be alert !
Be very alert !”

Maybe they’ll remove the prayers,
but they won’t remove the pray-ers,
perhaps they’ll silence the song,
but they won’t silence the singers

When I was a little girl we prayed each morning before class and it was beautiful. One day they took it away along with the public displaying of The Ten Commandments. Hearts began to break in families all across America. Gangs rushed in, drugs and violence came to follow, abortion and acceptable promiscuity joined hands. This was only the beginning! I am a firm believer that we need God in our schools, in our life, in our home, in our workplace, in our society and in our leadership!
Luke 17:2
It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.
If we are doing nothing about this, then we are just as guilty. Please support prayer in schools – You are not alone – I stand behind this every waking minute and shout it out loud!!!

this is so wrong….prayer is one of the things that stabilize our society…without it the world will be in anarchy 🙂
We were exhorted to pray in our closet. If you are free to pray out in public so will all the other nut jobs. Sigh!
very good Alec, keep the prayers coming.
Well written! It is happening everywhere. They will not silence our prayers.
Are we a Christian country or not?? Keep praying Alec – they will NEVER silence the prayers. Maybe its time for a prayathon to remind people…… vee xx
Very well written, well said and well done! Perfect photo, red alert!
Instead of getting angry (like I was) we have to continue praying constantly for people in high power so that the Lord will enlighten them that what they are doing is very wrong. As you said Alec, no one is going to stop us from praying.
IT IS TIME TO SPEAK OUT!! WELL DONE, WELL WRITTEN
yes, I like this, well done.
